Favre now No. 1 in wins as Green Bay pounds Giants

09/16/2007 - East Rutherford, NJ (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Brett Favre threw three touchdown passes and DeShawn Wynn ran for a pair of scores to lead the Green Bay Packers to a 35-13 win over the New York Giants.

Favre complete 29-of-38 passes for 286 yards with one interception on his way to becoming the NFL's all-time leader in wins with 149 and now needs just four more TD passes to become the all-time leader in that category.

Wynn ran for 50 yards and Donald Driver had eight catches for 73 yards with one touchdown for the Packers (2-0), who scored 28 points in the second half to cruise to their second win of the season.

Donald Lee and Bubba Franks also caught TD passes for Green Bay, which has won both of its games this season against NFC East teams. Last week, the Packers beat the Philadelphia Eagles, 16-13.

Giants quarterback Eli Manning started despite suffering from a sprained throwing shoulder on Week 1's 45-35 loss to Dallas, but his presence on the offense didn't help the horrendous New York defense.

Manning completed 16-of-29 passes for 211 yards with one touchdown and one interception. He left the game late in the fourth quarter when the Packers had the game well in hand.

Derrick Ward, filling in for injured starter Brandon Jacobs in the Giants backfield, ran for 90 yards and Plaxico Burress had two catches for 32 yards and a TD for New York, which has dropped eight of its last 10 regular-season games dating back to last season.

It's less than a month until the NHL hockey betting season opens at MySportsbook.com and preparations are underway for another battle in the race to hoist Lord Stanley's mug in 2007.

As cup crazy fans prepare to place their bets, one online sportsbook ,MySportsbook.com, is offering hockey betting lines on the 2007/2007 Stanley Cup , who will bring it home this upcoming season.

Despite a poor showing in last season's playoffs and the loss of Steve Yzerman to retirement, the Detroit Red Wings are early favourites at this online sportsbook with wagering odds of 6-1. The Wings will look to offensive powerhouse Pavel Datsyuk and newly appointed captain Nicklas Lidstrom to lead one of the league's most prominent franchises.

Always a threat are the Ottawa Senators, with newly acquired goaltender Martin Gerber from the Stanley Cup champion ,Carolina Hurricanes. The Sens are second best in the rankings at a 7-1 bet, and odds makers at this sportsbook are optimistic that the Ottawa squad will fare better than last season's Eastern Conference semi-final upset to the Buffalo Sabres.

Also worth noting are the defending Stanley Cup champs Carolina Hurricanes, a 10-1 bet to repeat. Behind the Canes are the New Jersey Devils, Calgary Flames, Buffalo Sabres, Philadelphia Flyers, and Anaheim Mighty Ducks all sit at 12-1. In the basement are the Washington Capitals, Chicago Blackhawks, and St. Louis Blues who all have 100-1 odds to win.
